Running quickly
down concrete stairs wasn’t the ideal thing to do. But Conner was late, and the
board wouldn’t wait for him. Even though it was his project, board members,
pff, so rude, and as usual…
“Watch it freak!”
an old woman in a walker shouted as Conner pushed her out of his way.
Normally, he would
have stifled a witty retort. But time was precious. Of course, he couldn’t
think the word precious without being reminded about Trisha. That blind date
from last night, the one that was obsessed with Lord of The Rings. The chills
swarmed his body as he remembered his friend’s idea of a prank.
“Hey dude. My
sister’s friend just got dumped, and well, she’s looking for a new dude.” He
had said that with his supportive voice. Witch always meant it was a bad idea.
To top it off, she had five restraining orders, all with government officials. As
he rounded a corner he ran into a woman with a tray of coffe, not a good
morning at all.
